WIC Dietitian - Nutrition Coordinator

Job Summary:Provide technical assistance to MG WIC nutrition personnel and administrators in areas of nutrition education, nutrition program development, local agency staff training and evaluation. Offers support in participant / WIC staff issues, and vendor issues, as well as fostering community outreach through collaborations with community programs that impact WIC participants. Oversees WIC medically high-risk caseload and provides evidence-based nutrition/ health and breastfeeding education and counseling directly to WIC participants.

+ Provides expert technical assistance to WIC staff including interpretation of federal and state policies, standards, nutrition program legislation and regulations.

+ Interprets and transmits current scientific information regarding food, nutrition, diet and health promotion especially relating to areas of maternal and child health.
