Vice Rector, responsible for Research

Position Overview

The University of Tampere and Tampere University of Applied Sciences invite applications for a Vice Rector – Research. The term is from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031. The position is full‑time and based in Tampere.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality of research and support achievement of the university’s strategic goals.
• Collaborate closely with the rector and other vice rectors on education, strategy implementation, stakeholder cooperation and partnerships.
• Monitor international research and higher education trends, national science policy, and related legislation, and oversee their implementation at the university.
• Participate in management team activities.
• Lead university internal councils and preparatory groups related to research.
• Actively represent the university in key national and international research and higher education networks.
