About the school

Toppenhaug barnehage consists of two houses (Hus Øvre and Hus Nedre) each with three departments. Each house can accommodate about 54 children aged 1‑6. The kindergarten is located in Bærums Verk with good walking opportunities to forest and fields, and with a short walk to the sculpture park at Bærums Verk. From Toppenhaug barnehage it is a short distance to public transportation.

Every day we work to live up to Bærum municipality’s vision “Together we create the future” and the municipality’s values, “Openness, Respect and Courage”. These values guide us in our interactions with children, parents and each other. The goal is “It is great to be small”. We participate in a quality and competence development programme called “TETT PÅ”. Staff are expected to further strengthen children’s safety, learning and language development in the kindergarten.
