**BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced emergency department at our Philadelphia, PA Hospital!**
**Pay:** $19.39 - $28.72 / hour + competitive shift differentials
Our Veterinary Assistants triage emergency cases as they come in and assist DVM with crafting and going overestimates as needed. In addition, they perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork, etc), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handling client communication.
**As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant you will:**
+ Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
+ Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
+ Pharmacology
+ Basic Medical Math
+ IV Fluid Therapy
+ Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
