Become a key financial player with Strathcona County as a Utilities Department Accountant I. This role focuses on financial reporting and budget management, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Utilities Accounting, you will manage financial accounting and reporting for the Utilities Department. This includes preparing invoices for utility customers, analyzing revenues and expenditures, and ensuring internal controls over cash handling. Your expertise will support department managers in budget planning and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with department operating budget preparation
• Prepare complex journal entries and accruals
• Reconcile accounts receivable billing invoices
• Review and advise on cash handling procedures
