This is an exciting opportunity at the Strathcona Community Hospital. The facility offers a 24/7 Emergency Department and a variety of Ambulatory, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging services. The Unit Clerk, under the general supervision of the Manager, serves as the point of first contact in matters concerning the efficient administration of the Emergency Department. The emergency department unit clerk is responsible for: Managing incoming and outgoing telephone calls, greeting and directing patients/visitors, and managing patient records/charts. Processing outgoing referrals for patients via the Connect Care Work Queue and managing deferred referrals in a timely manner. Manage and relay information on frequent consults utilizing a centralized consult and referral system for patients within the department. Booking appointments and interfacility transfers.
