Traffic Marshall

Main job:
Direct and control vehicle movements on a busy construction site, ensuring pedestrian and vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities
1. Vehicle control: Guide lorries, plant, and deliveries safely around site
2. Safety checks: Watch for hazards, enforce speed limits, and site rules
3. Communication: Use hand signals, radios, and banksman techniques
4. PPE & visibility: Wear hi-vis, use stop/go boards
5. Logistics support: Assist with reversing, spotting, and parking

Requirements – UK 2026
- Quals: CITB or equivalent Traffic Marshal certification
- Experience: 1-2 years on construction sites
- Skills: Awareness, communication, spatial judgement
- Certs: CSCS card (labourer)

Typical Day
- AM: Briefing, PPE check
- Work: Direct traffic, spot vehicles
- PM: Report issues, debrief
