Tooling Technician

Overview

Engineering Assistant is responsible for fabricating prototype samples based on customer and engineer-provided specifications, ensuring accuracy and customer requirement compliance. As the Tooling Room PIC, the Engineering Assistant manages tooling maintenance and service operations to support production efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Tooling Management: Learn about various tooling materials, maintenance procedures, and inventory control.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Learn predictive maintenance and data analytics to optimize tooling lifespan.
• Process Improvement: Study Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance efficiency.
• Prototype Fabrication: Review engineering requests and specifications for prototype samples.
• Plan material usage, machine usage, tooling and ensure availability for fabrication.
• Allocate work priorities based on project deadlines.
• Maintain 6S in the tooling room area.
