RRT Pediatrics

Provide respiratory therapy to patients across a mixed patient population, including neonates and adults. Work in critical care and support environments, including NICU, pediatrics, ER, and trauma units. Care for an average daily census of 6-7 ventilated patients. Participate in procedures related to critical care respiratory therapy. Utilize special equipment such as Maquet Servo i and Draeger V500. Administer treatments including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-frequency jet ventilation. Assist in intubation, extubation, and management of tracheostomy patients. Conduct capillary blood gas tests and emergency interventions. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient care. Be prepared to float between units as required, maintaining competency across settings. Obtain patient demographics and history to assess respiratory needs.
