Metallographic Sample Preparation & Analysis Perform full‑process metallographic sample preparation including cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching. Conduct microstructural observation, grain size rating, phase content analysis, and defect identification (e.g., porosity, inclusions, cracks) using metallurgical microscopes. Analyze weld penetration depth, heat‑affected zone, and weld microstructure of welded joints. Prepare and archive metallographic specimens; maintain metallographic sample library. Hardness Testing Operate and maintain Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and microhardness testers to perform hardness testing on metallic materials. Select appropriate hardness testing methods and loads based on material type and specification requirements. Perform gradient and cross‑sectional hardness testing (e.g., on welded joints, heat‑treated parts).
