About The Job

Tenure‑track faculty positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in Applied Geophysics at the Oulu Mining School, Faculty of Technology, University of Oulu. The role reports to the Research Unit director and involves leading research, education, and collaboration across the geosciences.

• Shape the vision, leadership, and mentoring of applied geophysics research and education.
• Conduct high‑level scientific research, publish internationally, and supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
• Build national and international research collaborations and secure external funding.
• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including lectures, practical sessions, and hands‑on training in instrumentation, data processing, modelling and inversion.
• Develop postgraduate training programmes that link professional activities with industry partners.
