The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency medical care and hospital transport to citizens calling 911. The Paramedic classification represents a high level of urgent response care provided for out of hospital medical or traumatic emergencies. Paramedics must possess high levels of treatment skill and several certifications: Paramedic Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, CPR Certification, and Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Certification. Paramedics must be licensed in the State of Maryland. Work responsibilities extend to monitoring and ordering supplies and emergency vehicle inspection and maintenance.
