Technologist, Survey & GIS

Overview

As the Technologist, Survey & GIS, you will work collaboratively with asset management unit staff to ensure delivery of engineering and operations services. You will provide routine to moderate engineering technology support and development for a broad range of engineering activities related to water and wastewater distribution assets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Geomatics or GIS or a similar technical discipline.
• Registration or clear path to registration as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Six months of progressively more experience in the following areas:
  • Working knowledge of surveying and modernized survey techniques (GPS, total stations, laser levels, automatic levels, data collectors, and conventional survey equipment).
  • Knowledge of GIS and applicable software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
