Our client, a leading Melbourne-based Victorian University, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join their STEM College at the Bundoora East campus. This is a crucial contingent role focused on supporting high-level teaching, research, and industry engagement within their Mechanical Engineering and Materials Testing laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

As a subject matter expert in structural testing, you will ensure the seamless operation of complex laboratory environments. Your duties include:

• Hands-on Testing: Provide technical support for compression, tension, and shear testing (often to failure).
• Infrastructure Management: Maintain and operate load frames, hydraulic systems, actuators, and data acquisition systems.
• Safety & Compliance: Manage laboratory governance, including SOPs, risk assessments, and OH&S legislation compliance.
