**Job Description :**

**GENERAL OVERVIEW**

Obtain blood samples by venipuncture, fingerstick, or heelstick. Provide instructions and/or assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens. Obtain selected culture specimens. Perform diagnostic testing procedures offered by Multitest.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Performs EKG testing, venipunctures, fingersticks, heelsticks, POC creatinine and RBGs. Instructs/assists patient’s w/collection of non-blood specimens. Obtains specimens for designated types of cultures. Completes procedures in accordance with universal precautions.
+ Labels specimens, completes necessary requisitions, packages specimens according to established procedures, and utilizes the pneumatic tube system to transport specimens and paperwork to the appropriate locations.
