Teaching Assistant

Overview

A SEND Teaching Assistant at Fred Nicholson School supports pupils aged 4–18 with complex needs across learning, communication, self‑care, social interaction and self‑regulation. The role is diverse and engaging, working as part of a supportive team.

Working Pattern

Daily: Mon/Wed/Thu 8:45–3:30, Tue 8:45–4:45, Fri 8:45–3:15. Flexibility for part‑time arrangements is considered if full daily hours are met.

Terms

• Salary: Scale D (£25,989 to £26,403 p/a FTE)
• Position: Permanent, Part Time
• Hours: 32.25 hrs per week, Term Time + 1 week

Responsibilities

The role is varied and involves supporting pupils across a range of activities. Specific tasks include facilitating learning, promoting communication, encouraging self‑care, fostering social interaction and supporting self‑regulation within the classroom and in approved learning environments.
