Teaching Assistant

Academics are an education recruitment agency working with a primary school in Llantwit to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with high tariff additional learning needs (ALN) and will run on a temporary basis, with potential for long-term continuation depending on funding and pupil progress.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs, which may include learning difficulties, communication challenges, and behaviour regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher, ALNCo, and external specialists to implement an individualised learning and behaviour support plan
• Supporting the child's academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social integration
• Assisting with transitions throughout the school day, including break and lunchtime if required
