Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist-II works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and in accordance with the legal scope of competency and within established standards of care, policies and procedures. The Surgical Technologist-II has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Participates during surgery as member of the highly reliable surgical team by passing instruments and supplies and assisting as directed; recognizes and responds to and assists in acute emergency situations. Assists in tissue retraction and limb support. Ensures instruments are clean and working properly. Requests additional supplies during surgery if needed. Assists surgeon while he or she is closing, suturing, stapling, cauterizing and bandaging pa...
