Supervisory Microbiologist

Summary This position is located at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Services (ARS), National Bio And Agro-Defense Facility located in Manhattan, KS. In this position, you will be conducting research and developing vaccines and other countermeasures, as well as training veterinarians and other scientists in preparedness and response to disease outbreaks. Responsibilities Provides scientific oversight for the development, production, and testing of vaccines and biological products for use in all animals. Serves as the lead scientist in ensuring the acquisition, maintenance and modification of equipment required for the complex process and analytical development techniques required. Plans, directs, and coordinates for the early development of vaccines, diagnostics and biotherapeutics.
