Student Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent working relationships with all departments and colleges across the University
• Facilitate individual and group counseling and career advising sessions designed to meet the needs of current students and alumni
• Design and deliver student development workshops in the areas of mental health well-being skills development and career planning for students and University staff
• Create and deliver presentations and workshops to a range of audiences to raise awareness of counseling services and appropriate referral mechanisms
• Liaise with faculty and staff to support effective engagement with students and address student-related concerns
• Assist and advocate for students with special needs and medical conditions in coordination with faculty and supervisors as required
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary
