Structural Design Engineer

Purpose and Mission

The Structural Design Engineer’s role is to provide design and structural analysis to support the engineering team for Flintstone products for energy markets including floating offshore wind. These products are predominantly mooring line connectors, tensioners, and accessories.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for the development of design and analysis of new products, improving existing designs, and modifying them to meet specific project requirements.

• Performing manual and MathCad calculations to support and verify design work. Good knowledge of Finite Element Analysis is required; however the role is to be developed with training from our existing FEA consultant who is an expert in the field.
• Good knowledge of 3D CAD (SolidWorks is our inhouse CAD software).
• Failure mode effect and criticality analysis.
• Report writing.
