Sterile Processing Technician - Central Sterile Reprocessing

Overview
Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment dispensed by the department, following infection control practices and guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Follows manufacturer instructions for use for steam and low temperature sterilization
* Follows manufacturer instructions for use for decontamination, disinfection of instruments, and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines
* Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrument kits
* Demonstrates knowledge of how to properly inspect and assemble kits
* Adheres to hospital policies for CSR as well as follow AAMI guidelines (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments
* Performs equipment testing: Bowies and Biologicals, and reports any abnormal results to the supervisor
* Delivery of sterile instruments and kits in a timely manner, within 48 hours, to other departments within the hospital
