Job Overview Job Title: Stationary Engineer Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH Salary: $26.84 - $28.21 (6 month rate) Responsibilities Directs, operates, and maintains powerhouse equipment on an assigned shift. Reports to Manager, Power Plant or other designated supervisor. Operates and instructs powerhouse workers in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of boilers, furnaces, and auxiliary equipment (i.e., turbines, blowers, flow meters, pumps, generators, fans, compressors, chillers and related equipment). Makes rounds of powerhouse; reads meters, gauges, and recording devices; visually inspects equipment to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments, or lubrication and makes repairs and/or adjustments as required. Monitors power consumption meters; starts, synchronizes, switches, and stops generators, turbines, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers and related equipment as needed.
