Starting Pigs Specialist

Starting Pig Specialist will work with farm staff during the nursery stage of production in wean to finish production sites.

Responsibilities & Duties

Train & assist farm staff during the nursery stage of production:

• Preplacement site inspections
• Initial stocking plans
• Sorting & Treating
• Mat & Gruel Feeding

Ability to troubleshoot & adjust heating & ventilation systems.

Assessing health issues and the ability to perform on farm diagnostics.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational & time management skills.
• Prior swine management experience.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Travel – across Iowa with possible overnight stays.
