Staff Research Scientist: Agronomy/Biology - Apricot Breeding

Responsibilities

• Planning and responsibility for the Apricot Breeding programme (operative planning and implementation of the Apricot Breeding programme; independent development of the methodology for the agronomic testing of apricots according to the latest scientific and practical findings; ensuring cooperation with national and international partners and the coordination of the experimental network)
• Research with a focus on apricot breeding (developing new genetic and phenotyping breeding tools in partnership with Agroscope's in-house research groups as well as with further national and international partners; implementing and applying modern molecular biological and digital breeding approaches)
• Supporting breeding activities in the Apple and Pear programme
• Acquiring and working on third-party projects
• Knowledge transfer (authoring scientific and practice-oriented publications and conference papers; organising conferences...
