Staff Nurse I - Neurosciences L Nursing-stepdown Unit (Madrid)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide total, direct nursing care in accordance with the plan of care and needs of the patients with respect for the patient's privacy, dignity, personal preference and culture. Prepare, administer, and document the administration of all prescribed medication by the physician, managing intravenous lines, observing and monitoring and recording patients' conditions, maintaining records and communicating with all healthcare providers. Maintain knowledge of resources for therapeutic effects, usual dosages, contraindications, side effects and adverse reactions for all drugs and parental fluids administered. Maintain accountability for narcotics and controlled drugs. Escalate any adverse events/reactions as per policy.

• Perform an age specific, systematic and holistic initial assessment of the patient health status, and refer to appropriate specialty if necessary and as applicable. Assess patient/family educational need...
