Staff Design Engineer, Canada

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality software across the full stack.
• Expand and enhance Ashby's in-house design system to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Develop reusable, composable UI components to enable other engineers to build custom features.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate customer needs into product specifications.
• Improve information hierarchy and usability of complex product screens.
• Mentor and support teammates in design and coding best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building UI components with TypeScript and React.
• Proficiency with GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, and Redis.
• Background in designing and building scalable, data‑intensive applications.
