Description We are looking for a detail-focused Staff Accountant to join a mission-driven nonprofit organization in San Francisco, California on a Contract basis. This role will support core accounting activities across payables, receivables, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and monthly financial close while helping maintain accurate and timely records. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to manage daily financial transactions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing payment batches, and handling employee reimbursement submissions.
• Track and post incoming funds, monitor outstanding balances, and communicate as needed to help resolve overdue receivables.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity each month to ensure financial records remain complete and accurate.
