Senior Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• In this technically challenging position, you will generate and apply steelmaking knowledge and related fields to topics related to electric arc furnaces (EAF), ladle metallurgy, vacuum tank degassing, tundish practices, and casting to impact processes and product development.
• Plan, manage, communicate, and report on laboratory experimentation, characterization of samples, process data analysis, modelling of the metallurgy and processes.
• Communicate or guide these activities at Interpro Pipe & Steel Research and Development, Interpro Pipe & Steel production mills, and at other partner facilities.
• Provide technical project leadership for research and development (R&D) activities related to all steelmaking related processes and metallurgy.
• Understand and apply thermodynamic fundamentals and the modelling thereof (e.g., FactSage, Thermo-Calc).
