Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to work within the Adult Speech & Language Therapy team at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. Your role will be to support Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) provision across in-patient settings, working closely with the SLTs and others in the multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support Speech & Language Therapy with swallowing and communication caseloads, working closely with ward staff, patients and families/carers.
• Take case histories from medical notes.
• Carry out exercises for speech and swallowing and provide communication therapy, including support with augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC).
• Provide direct clinical input to adult inpatients with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders.
