Specialist Dietitian (Band 6)

Role Overview

Part‑time (22.5 hours week) permanent Specialist Dietitian (Band 6) within the Cystic Fibrosis and Speciality & Integrated Medicine (SIM) dietetic teams at St James’s Hospital, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist assessment and dietary advice to patients in the Cystic Fibrosis inpatient (0.4 WTE) and outpatient pathways and to the inpatient SIM dietetic team wards (0.2 WTE).
• Deliver nutrition education to patients, patient support groups and nursing staff.
• Participate in MDT ward rounds and departmental/MDT initiatives and working groups.
• Support the transition of patients from paediatric to adult cystic‑fibrosis care.
• Supervise and develop rotational Band 5 dietitians and dietetic assistants and contribute to placement provision for dietetic learners and apprentices.
