Special Procedures Technologist

Position Summary: The Special Procedures Technologist (SPT) will perform a variety of procedures utilizing diagnostic imaging equipment. The SPT will use specified protocols to position and immobilize patients on examining table, using head and shoulder braces, enter technical factors such as amount and quality of radiation beam, and specified imaging sequence into computer, raising and lowering examining table and manipulating and positioning x-ray tube. The SPT will start automatic injection of contrast medium into blood vessels of patient, and activate fluoroscopic or digital unit to produce images that assist radiologist in guiding catheter through cardiovascular system of patient. The SPT will rotate through the on-call schedule and must be willing to report back to work during any emergency situation, this includes if needed during inclement weather, mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. The SPT will complete other duties as assigned....
