Special Education Advisor

About this role

Full‑time, permanent position based in the Invercargill office. As a Special Education Advisor, you will play a critical role in the region's Learning Support team by collaborating with educators, parents, caregivers, and whānau to enhance understanding of each child and support the development of personalised learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team around the child to assess behaviours and identify learning needs.
• Develop, implement and monitor effective personalised learning plans.
• Support adults to make changes to learning environments that better manage behaviours and create safer settings.
• Assist children in developing pro‑social responses, improving participation, wellbeing and learning outcomes.
• Facilitate access to wider services (e.g., speech and language therapy, local agencies) as required.
