Silviculture Manager

Overview

PG Bison has a vacant position for a seasoned Silviculture Manager for its Forestry Operations in Ugie to manage their Silviculture operations between Ugie, Maclear and Elliot towns. The successful candidate should have the below competencies, skills, knowledge and qualities:

Responsibilities

• Establishment & Maintenance: Overseeing site preparation, planting, and tending (weeding/thinning) to ensure high survival rates of new saplings
• Contractor Management: Leading and auditing external silviculture contractors, often managing their work-study programs and safety compliance
• Fire & Risk Management: Designing and implementing fire protection strategies, including firebreak maintenance and managing active firefighting operations
• Sustainability Compliance: Ensuring all operations adhere to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) standards
