**Job Description**

+ The Shipfitter lays out, fabricates, and installs aluminum components such as plates, bulkheads, frames, and braces within the hull of a ship to prepare structures for welding or riveting. This role works directly from blueprints and templates, uses a variety of hand and power tools, and operates shop machinery to shape and fit heavy metal parts with precision.

**Responsibilities**

+ Lay out the position of aluminum parts, including plates, bulkheads, frames, and braces, within the ship hull using blueprints or templates.
+ Use scribes, measuring tools, and hand tools to mark and prepare materials accurately for fabrication and installation.
+ Mark the location of holes to be drilled and install temporary fasteners to hold parts securely in place for welding or riveting.
+ Roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts using shop machine...
