Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Piper Maddox are supporting a global aerospace engineering organisation with the hire of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D Technical function in Buckinghamshire.

The business is a recognised leader in aircraft electrical systems and is playing a central role in the electrification of aviation, spanning power generation, distribution, motors and hybrid‑electric propulsion technologies.

The UK site is a key engineering hub focused on smart motor and power generation technologies, supporting both established aerospace platforms and next‑generation electromechanical systems.

This is a senior‑level mechanical design position with real ownership.

You will lead and deliver engineering work packages across R&D and R&T programmes, developing robust mechanical solutions for rotating electrical equipment ensuring designs are technically sound, manufacturable, cost‑conscious and aligned to programme milestones.
