SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Overview

Axcis is delighted to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for its dedicated SEND secondary school in the SE6 area, catering for students with PMLD and ASD. Working Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, the role supports students with a range of additional needs—including ASD, challenging behaviour, and PMLD—and also involves personal care tasks such as feeding and toileting.

Role and Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with varying learning and physical needs.
• Assisting with personal care and supporting students’ physical wellbeing throughout the day.
• Helping to implement individual learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Encouraging communication, independence and engagement through creative and supportive strategies.
• Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and respected.
