Job Description
Role
As a teaching assistant at the specialist school you will support children with complex needs, working 1:1 with a small mixed‑ability class of 6‑8 pupils. The position is full‑time, permanent, based on approximately 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Teach 1:1 according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
- Provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the lead teacher
- Support the general wellbeing of learners within the structure of the school
- Monitor and evaluate student learning
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to teach and support learners with complex needs
- Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Teaching assistant experience
- Experience working in SEND settings desirable but not essential
- Eligibility to work in the UK
