SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 2 – Primary School, Penzance)

Full‑time, temporary (potential permanent). Start: ASAP.

Role Overview

Provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 2 pupil, helping to develop learning, communication and emotional skills in a nurturing school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND children in classroom, small group or 1:1 settings.
• Knowledge of continuous provision and the EYFS curriculum.
• Calm, caring and consistent approach with excellent communication skills.
• Resilience and adaptability to meet children’s changing needs throughout the school day.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of BSL (ideally Level 2 or 3) or Makaton highly desirable.
