An excellent opportunity has become available within a specialist SEN school in Peterlee for a SEN Classroom Assistant.

The school supports pupils aged 4–16 with Autism, SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, engaging and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils academically and emotionally
• Assisting with personalised learning activities
• Supporting emotional regulation strategies
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Supporting behaviour management consistently
• Working closely with teachers and support staff

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals desirable
• Patient and adaptable approach
