Screwman (Skilled Op)

We are currently seeking an experienced Tarmac Screwman to join a busy Machine Lay Gang on a project in Kent Reigion . You will be responsible for controlling the screed on the asphalt paver, ensuring the correct depth, width and finish of laid materials in line with project specifications.

This is a skilled, hands‑on role that requires precision, strong technical knowledge and an excellent eye for quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and controlling the screed on the asphalt paving machine
• Setting and maintaining correct levels, camber and thickness of asphalt throughout
• Adjusting screed controls to ensure a consistent, high‑quality finish
• Monitoring material flow and temperature to ensure optimal laying conditions
• Carrying out on‑ground checks to maintain line and level accuracy
• Working closely with the paver operator, rakehands and roller drivers
