Sanitation Truck Driver

Position Overview

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill two permanent positions for a Sanitation Truck Driver in the Environmental Services Branch, Operation Department.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate a City-owned vehicle and equipment related to solid waste collection, landfill operations, material management and diversion.
• Obtain and hold the necessary driving license/equipment certification to perform assigned duties.
• Utilize all personal protective equipment provided and perform the duties in a safe manner.
• Tag, record and advise Supervisor or Crew Lead of any garbage and/or containers that do not comply with the Solid Waste Bylaw.
• Perform maintenance of the unit(s) assigned; ensure the unit(s) are operated in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Report on all minor and major repairs.
• Work weekends and shift work as required.
