Safety Specialist I (Rail)

Description

Under the general direction of the Safety Manager, the Safety Specialist I (Rail) fosters a proactive organizational safety culture and promotes a safe and healthy environment for all employees, passengers, contractors, and the public in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and regulatory laws, rules, and/or guidelines with the primary focus on rail system safety.
 
Distinguishing Characteristics 
This position supports the Safety & Risk Management Division by providing professional level knowledge of safety programs, emergency response plans, and federal and state regulations directly related to transit systems. This position requires prior experience in conducting safety activities and the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate public and industrial safety risks.
