**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**

Provides patients medications and fluids via intravenous injection. May prepare and mix solutions for intake, monitors fluid tubes and injection site, and maintains arterial catheters. Monitors medication ingestion for proper dosage and avoids potential drug complications. The Registered Nurse assesses physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):**

+ Associate’s degree in Nursing
+ Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
