The Institute for Obesity Research was established to generate forefront knowledge through scientific rigor and analysis, developing ideas and innovative solutions to the problem of obesity through inter- and trans-disciplinary work and creating scientific-technological companies to improve the health and well-being of people and society.

The IOR presents an exciting opportunity for faculty to develop and lead research activities to prevent and treat obesity and metabolic diseases in Mexican and Latin American populations within Tecnologico de Monterrey and beyond.

We are comprised by five research units: Healthy Foods Bioengineering and Medical Devices, Integrative Biology, Experimental Medicine and Advanced Therapies, Public Policy.
