POSITION SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Central Stores and Sterile Manager. Performs a variety of sterile processing technician duties, including, but not limited to, sorting, decontamination, (re) assembling, and (re) wrapping of equipment and supplies for sterilization, operating sterilization equipment, monitoring quality controls, maintaining accurate records, dispensing and retrieving various supplies and equipment upon request, maintaining inventories, inspecting and verifying instruments and equipment are in good condition and functioning properly, and verifying the repair or replacement of defective instruments and equipment. Reviews daily inventory and performs stocking of the Omnicell system. Understands the importance of aseptic and sterile technique when performing assigned duties, and maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
