Crisis Stabilization Unit focuses on stabilizing acute addiction and mental health crises, patient education, instilling hope in patient recovery, and connecting individuals to community-based resources within a 24-hour period.

Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) – Crisis Stabilization

Works within full scope as a member of the health-care team. Using your understanding of the DSM-V, Alberta Mental Health Act, and other governing standards/legislation for practice, you will perform physical and mental-health assessments, intervene with health teaching and health promotion, de-escalate patients, deliver one-to-one and group psychosocial interventions, and facilitate group sessions while maintaining a patient-and-family-centred care focus.
