The staff cares for a variety of medical and telemetry patients with acute and/or chronic illness, such as sepsis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac disease, and COVID-19. Staff members will manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, post-bariatric procedures, high oxygen delivery systems and end-of-life care. 5 West began piloting a team-based care delivery model in January 2025 and wants to ensure that each team member is well versed and educated on how this model of care benefits not only the patient, but each staff member as well.
