Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job. The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a highly skilled individual with a keen and accurate attention to detail. This position is responsible for working with surgeons in the operating room by controlling bleeding, suturing incisions and wounds and intervening if complications arise.

What you will do:

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries
• Prepare patients for surgery
• Provide patient care and support
• Administer medications
• Practice surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding and suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure and handling tissue.
• Prepare all necessary supplies
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table
• Monitor the patient's vital signs and heart rate
• Study patient history and health assessments
