The ED RN provides competent, compassionate, and cost-effective emergency care in accordance with unit, department, and evidence-based nursing standards. The role delivers timely assessment, intervention, and coordination of care for patients presenting with acute needs.

The ED RN provides competent, compassionate, and cost-effective emergency care in accordance with unit, department, and evidence-based nursing standards. The role delivers timely assessment, intervention, and coordination of care for patients presenting with acute needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients promptly and determine acuity using clinical judgment and established protocols.
- Administer medications and initiate treatments within scope of practice and nursing standards of care.
- Perform and document neurological screening using NIHSS as indicated.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to support safe transitions and continuity of emergency services.
- Deliver patient and family education while maintaining compassionate, evidence-based communication.
- Maintain compliance with unit policies, infection control practices, and documentation requirements.
